Catherine Maathuis graduated from the Richard Robinson Fashion Design Academy with a diploma in fashion design in 2025, although she has been sewing for nearly a decade.

She began sewing as a teenager in order to make costumes, and later brought that theatrical sensibility to her personal designs. After working as a computer engineer for a decade, she decided to launch her business as a custom fashion designer in order to pursue a long-held passion.
